Cryptozoology is the study of hidden animals and species.  How does this relate to paranormal research?  Well, for the most part, most of the "hidden" animals that cryptozoologists study are just as "elusive" as the ghosts we seek.  Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, the Jersey Devil, and the Yeti are just some examples of the creatures they seek.  SyFy Channel's "Destination Truth" is a good show for people looking into this study as they do bring these creatures as well as their history and legends into our homes every week, much like one of my personal favorites growing up, "In Search Of" which was narrated by Leonard Nimoy many years ago.  As paranormal investigators, it is important to keep up to date with this type of information because who knows, some of the claims we end up investigating could be caused by a new, unknown creature of world!  Even today, especially in the ocean depths, researchers are discovering new species all the time!
