Narrative

Received a request for an investigation from a client who resides in the City of New Bedford, Massachusetts.  Case Manager Kelley Dubrule made contact with the client and completed a pre-investigation questionnaire.  There were many reports of possible paranormal activity from noises and footsteps, physical contact, to apparitions.  Advised the client to keep a journal of any activity that does take place prior to us coming out.

The client did include some photographs of a possible face that appeared in a second story window.  After reviewing the photographs, it was determined to be matrixing (pareidolia), and no faces existed in the photos.

Director Phil Sheridan approved the request and a date was set for the preliminary investigation (November 15, 2008).  The crew due to the size of the home was Phil Sheridan (Team Leader), Julie Sisson (Assistant Team Leader), Gerry Powling (Tech), Kelley Dubrule, Paula Sheridan, Tim Devault, Jenn LeBlanc, and Melissa Croteau.  Jenn LeBlanc performed site history.

We were able to trace owners of the land back to 1855, the current house according to the Assessor’s Office was built in 1915 or 1916.  There is possibly one death in the residence of a heart attack in 1936.

The crew left Orange at 4:30 PM and arrived on location at 7:00 PM in New Bedford.  The client showed us the home and the reported hot spots.  Most of the activity reported was on second floor and in the attic, with the room being used currently as the master bedroom being the most active.  There were multiple reports of activity in this room with multiple witnesses including the clients daughter and boyfriend.  This activity included unexplained noises, possible “shadow” style apparitions, and physical manipulation of the bed while the client was in it (Shaking).  A camera and wireless audio was set up in this location.  There were reports of footsteps and noises from an adjacent bedroom as well.  There were also reports of footsteps being heard in the attic area.  The client’s daughter witnessed an apparition downstairs near the kitchen of what she described as a female in “colonial” attire.

One report was that in what is now the master bedroom, possible shadow apparitions would appear in the corner by the door.  Many investigators noted during the evening that shadows casted into the room and the other rooms as well all night.  It did look like a person moving, but it was a light from outside.  There was a lot of audio contamination from outside, a very “loud” home, with people, cars, sirens (typical City).  There were also high winds and at times heavy rain.

A few investigators had personal experiences including feelings of being touched, and noise responses to questioning.  We did catch a few anomalies, but all in all not enough to make a concrete determination if the home is haunted or not.

The client was very pleased with our service.  We are currently planning on returning to the residence in 2009 for a follow up invest.  As with every case we take on, we are always available for our clients if needed.
