Case Number: 08-018-26 Location: Chesterfield, New Hampshire Type: Ruins/Outdoor
During the month of September 2008, Quabbin Valley Paranormal obtained special permission to do a paranormal investigation on the Madame Sherri property on Gulf Road in Chesterfield, New Hampshire. We are very grateful to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests for allowing us to do our research. The date was set for September 19th with granted access to the property from 6PM to 6AM. Our Case Manager notified the Chesterfield Police Department on Wednesday the 17th and notified them we would be on the property after hours and that we had a special use permit. The Police Department was called again on the 19th to remind them of our activities. Quabbin Valley Paranormal has a strict policy on any investigation that permission is obtained by the property owner or manager prior to any investigations. Our group for this night consisted of five members and one guest. We met at the parking area at approximately 6PM. We set up our command post near the Madame Sherri sign. It consisted of folding chairs and a table, our equipment, and enough food supplies to last the night. While it was still daylight we toured the property up to the foundation and partially out on the Ann Stokes Loop. During our daylight tour, we decided on camera locations and took our initial EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) readings. With nothing electrical in the area, we expected zero readings and that was what we found. Once back at the Command Post, we readied the equipment for placement and made out our investigation assignments. With six people, we decided to split up in groups of two, leaving two at Command Post, two at the foundation, and two on the trails. Groups were changed up every hour. It didn't take long for it to begin to get dark. By 7PM we started two of our Mini DV camcorders with infrared rolling at the foundation. One was aimed at the stairway to nowhere and the other aiming at the fireplace. At 8PM, crews were ready to begin their research and they started. Each crew had radio communication to the Command Post. We rotated crews as mentioned prior. One pair got very adventurous and investigated the entire Ann Stokes Loop. They didn't find anything unusual other than a few animals that startled them. Each crew conducted EVP session though out the investigation. That is where we have audio recorders and video cameras running and we ask questions in an attempt to get a response from a disembodied spirit. We utilized the K-II meter as well as still photography as well. During our time on the Madame Sherri property, we didn't find anything that would lead us to believe it was haunted. We carefully reviewed all of our collected data and did not find anything to support the claims. All in all it was a fun time researching the property. It's a beautiful place with an interesting history.
